Greeks residing abroad

For Greeks residing abroad (permanently or temporarily) the license is issued by the Municipality of residence.

  1. Application
  2. Solemn Declaration of L. 1599/86
  3. Authorisation to a third person to submit the supporting documents and receive the license

 *The three aforementioned documents must be validated as to the authenticity of the signature by the Consul of the Greek Consulate

  1. Birth Certificate
  2. Birth Certificate issued by the Registry Office

 *For the Greeks born in Constantinople, Cairo or Alexandria, the Patriarchate Baptism Certificate is valid

  1. Identity card
  2. Stamp fee 15 €
  3. Publication of the marriage announcement
